In passive voice, the direct object moves to subject position. The original subject appears in a “by” phrase or disappears.
active → passive example:
Active: the nurse administered the medication.
Passive: the medication was administered (by the nurse).
exam traps:
- Choosing the agent (by + noun)
- Choosing adverbs
- Thinking passive means “no object”
